Guest Bedroom - Notting Hill

Delighted to be working on a project close to our studio in Notting Hill.

Given an Antoinette Poisson fabric "OISEAUX & FEUILLAGE" a soft 100% linen fabric to cover the walls of a basement guest bedroom for designer Fran Hickman.

For this room we had to work across a beautiful bay window, while the rest of the room was fairly simple the bay window wall was slightly more complicated but yet so effective when finished. Fran Hickman decided to finish the fabric walling with a custom made double piping made in the same fabric.

The above video and below image show is starting on the “focal” wall. This is the wall where the bed will be centred and therefore this is the wall I will begin by centering my middle drop of fabric so seams fall symmetrically onto this wall. Either side of this wall I will follow the horizontal pattern repeat.

Textile Wall Company

The Textile Wall Company works with the UKs top Interior Designers and Fabric Houses specialising in wall upholstery, a unique skill where fabric is stitched and applied over a padded wall. Wall upholstery delivers a luxurious finish as an alternative to wall paper or paint.

TRADITIONAL

With traditional wall upholstery, the fabric is stapled and a custom trim is used to cover the staples. There are varied trim choices from a flat trim made of fabric, a double or single welt, a gimp or tape trim, a custom wood filet and more.
